NexGen (fka Hardball) Indoor Winter Training Program


Registration is now open for our 3rd session of the indoor winter training program!  

These training programs are run in partnership with NexGenTraining Center in Elmsford (fka Hardball).  Session 2 is coming to and end and it's now time for our 3rd, and FINAL, session of this off-season. 

The session will run from Monday, 2/23 - Saturday, 3/28 (section dependent)  

• There will be 6 different classes with their own recurring times. You will need to sign up for a specific class and may only attend the class you sign up for.

• Each class will meet five times (once a week over the course of Session 3).

• The programs for older players will last 90 minutes.

• The programs for younger players (or a blend of older and younger players) will last 60 minutes.

• The programs will focus on basic skills and drills, emphasizing hitting, fielding, and throwing.

• The programs for 2nd-graders through 7th-graders will be led by NexGen's professional instructors with a maximum instructor/player ratio of 8:1

• The sessions are scheduled to avoid school vacation weekends 

• We have included a first grade only session since we have had so much demand during our last session. This session will be capped at 16 players with 3 to 4 instructors per session resulting in an instructor:player ratio of approx.4:1. As we have watched these sessions develop, we have seen the need for the 1st grade session to have a lower instructor:player ratio and have therefore added two additional instructors. The price is slightly higher for this session due to it's specific needs. 

As you will see in the chart below, there are multiple registration options. Programs are divided into two age groups: 4th through 7th grade and 2nd through 4th grade. If your 4th-grader is a particularly strong player, you may want to consider signing him/her up for the older group. Otherwise, please sign up for the younger group. Your child may only attend the sessions for which they sign up. The 2nd through 7th grade sessions will be broken up into two groups, one for the younger players and one for the older players.

Please Note: Registration filled up quickly the last 2 years. As a result, we had to turn away several players. ELL players will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the programs fill up, you will be able to sign up for a waiting list. If we have enough players on the waiting list, we will try our best to add another program, but that is not guaranteed: It will depend upon availability for both the space and instructors.

We also have received requests for specialty pitcher and catcher programs and are working to offer those for both baseball and softball. Please stay tuned for more news on that front.
